Subwoofer Science's Boom88 has a side project with singer Eric Brookins, who was featured on "Afros N Twists" on the Subwoofer Science EP. Their sound has been described as "alt(ernative) soul" by DC music/culture blog, The Couch Sessions. More than a year ago, Boom began deeply studying all types of blues music, it's nuances, various styles, how and why the blues artists wrote and sang the way they did, etc. Now Bullets Over Romance have released this experimental blues fusion project that incorporates traditional blues guitar riffs and songwriting over modern drum kits.
Features Ryan Lucas on "Another Golden Day" and myself on the EP's intro.
I think their description of the project puts it best:
"We take traditional Delta Blues and imagine what Robert Johnson and Son House would have made if they had samplers and synths back in the 1930's."
